Who Is Eligible

Oston Charity Foundation provides limited, short-term charitable assistance to individuals and families experiencing temporary hardship. All requests are reviewed individually and are subject to available resources and organizational approval.

Meeting the eligibility criteria listed below does not guarantee assistance.

Be an individual or household experiencing documented financial or life hardship
Be a member of, or connected to, the Tajik community in the United States
Be currently located in the United States (temporary or permanent)
Be facing a temporary and verifiable hardship
Demonstrate a genuine need for short-term charitable assistance
Be willing to provide identification and supporting documentation
Provide truthful and accurate information throughout the application process

Priority Consideration

When resources are limited, Oston may give priority consideration to:

Families with dependent children
Elderly individuals living alone or without adequate support
Applicants facing urgent or emergency situations
Individuals with documented medical needs
Applicants with no access to other assistance sources
Verified cases with time-sensitive deadlines (eviction, medical procedures, utility shutoff)

Required Documentation

To evaluate requests fairly and responsibly, applicants may be asked to provide some or all of the following:

Identity & Location

  • Valid government-issued identification (any country)
  • Proof of current location in the United States
  • Contact information (phone, email, address)

Hardship Documentation

  • Written description of the hardship or emergency
  • Bills, invoices, notices, or receipts
  • Eviction notices or lease agreements
  • Court documents, police reports, or official notices

Medical Documentation

  • Medical bills or hospital invoices
  • Doctor's letters or treatment summaries
  • Pharmacy receipts or prescription documentation
  • Insurance denial letters (if applicable)

Financial Information

  • Proof of income or employment status
  • Bank statements (when requested)
  • Evidence of other assistance received or denied
  • References from community members or social workers

Note: In certain emergency situations, assistance may be considered even if full documentation is not immediately available. Oston may request additional documentation at any time during or after the review process.

Situations That Are Generally Not Eligible

The following situations generally fall outside the scope of Oston's charitable programs. This list is not exhaustive, and Oston reserves the right to evaluate each case individually.

Requests for long-term or permanent financial support
Business loans, investments, or commercial ventures
Debt repayment unrelated to basic living needs
Legal fees, fines, or penalties
Immigration attorney fees or visa application costs
Travel or relocation expenses outside the United States
Cosmetic or elective medical procedures
Requests where the applicant refuses to provide identification or documentation
Situations involving suspected fraud or misrepresentation
Requests from individuals not connected to the Tajik community in the United States

Funding & Fundraising Notice

Oston Charity Foundation operates entirely through charitable donations. In some cases, funds may not be immediately available at the time of application review.

If sufficient funds are not available, Oston may initiate a fundraising campaign on behalf of an approved applicant, subject to internal review and Board approval.

  • Fundraising does not guarantee that the requested amount will be raised
  • Timing and outcome depend on donor participation
  • Assistance can only be provided if sufficient funds are successfully raised
  • Oston retains discretion over the final form and amount of assistance

Confidentiality

All applications and personal information are handled with strict confidentiality. Identity documents, medical records, financial records, and verification materials are not published publicly.

Access is limited to authorized Oston representatives involved in eligibility review, compliance, administration, or charitable decision-making.
